ľyuzuki and Vancouver Island University Partner to Expand Opportunities for Culinary Learners

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON July 31, 2023) – ľyuzuki and Vancouver Island University have partnered together to offer an expanded opportunity for those interested in deepening their learning of the culinary arts.

The new pathway agreement will allow eligible graduates of ľyuzuki’s Culinary Management diploma program to complete a at Vancouver Island University within two to three years. This new pathway is available beginning September 2023 and is available to past graduates of ľyuzuki as well as current students.

Through this agreement, our learners can grow and build upon the hands-on skills and foundational knowledge gained through ľyuzuki’s diploma program positioning them to be versatile professionals within the culinary field,” said Sherri Smith, Chair, Natural Environment, Business and Culinary.

“The Bachelor of Hospitality Management at Vancouver Island University will provide graduates of ľyuzuki’s Culinary Management Diploma with the opportunity to expand their business knowledge in the hospitality and food and beverage industries,” said Hospitality Management Professor Dr. Jean-Guy Robichaud. “We also offer a few interesting options for students who wish to take a non-conventional path in completing their degree. Qualifying students may choose to participate in study abroad programs, an international field school or may choose to complete a minor during their studies. VIU prides itself in having smaller class sizes and we support our hospitality students with co-op opportunities. We create a collegial and supportive cohort environment for our students in supporting their educational and career goals.”

This new pathway supports both institutions’ priorities of expanding access to post-secondary education, enhancing the overall educational experience, and supporting innovation and meaningful partnerships.
